This blog is dedicated for building character and human values in children through various stories and experiences of children practicing these values. I offer this as a tribute to my Master and guide Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and my mother Mrs. Anandi Parameswaran who was an exemplary Balvikas guru and nutured me with the right values.

Swami (Sai Baba) says; “It is easier to mould a small plant; if one tries to do the same with the tree ; it will break”. Children have to be directed in the right path by inculcating values in them. Character building is very important. He emphasises on character. “End of Education is character”. “A person without character is like a house without a lamp”. Some of the ways in achieving this is by teaching children prayers and value based stories.

This is intended to be of use to anyone wanting to practice human values and inculcate these values in children irrespective of caste, creed or religion. In fact this is not restricted only to children. It applies to all of us. Children learn from the adults action rather than mere talk. When one reads and shares with others; the message does sink in and the transformation starts beginning.

This blog is not intended to promote any religion, God or Guru; though more emphasis might be given to Santana Dharma stories and teachings as I have been raised in that background.

The values are universal. Stories are taken from various sources and due credits are given to the source wherever possible. Hoping this will benefit the next generation at a period when human values are eroding at a rapid pace.

Looking forward and wishing for a loving and peaceful world filled with the people treading this path of human excellence and who believe that “Education is for life and not mere living.”
